    اعتبر وزير الخارجية الإيراني حسين أمير عبد اللهيان أن ما حدث فجر الجمعة "لم يكن هجوما"، مشيرا إلى أن طهران لا تزال تحقق في تبعية المسيرات التي سقطت قرب اصفهان 

    وقال عبد اللهيان في تصريح لقناة "إن بي سي" الأمريكية، يوم الجمعة: "ما حدث الليلة الماضية لم يكن هجوما... هذه كانت أشبه بلعب للأطفال وليس بالطائرات المسيرة

    وأشار إلى أن التحقيق بشأن وقف وراء إطلاق تلك المسيرات لا يزال مستمرا

    وأضاف إن لم تكن هناك أي مغامرة جديدة من قبل إسرائيل ضد مصالحنا، فنحن لا نعتزم القيام بأي رد فعل جديد

     

    وأكد أنه "إذا اتخذت إسرائيل أي خطوة حاسمة ضد بلادي، وتم إثبات ذلك، فإن ردنا سيكون فوريا وبأكبر قوة ممكنة وسيجعلهم يندمون على ذلك

    ويأتي ذلك على خلفية إطلاق إيران مئات الصواريخ والطائرات المسيرة على إسرائيل يوم 13 أبريل الجاري ردا على الغارة الإسرائيلية على القنصلية الإيرانية بدمشق التي أسفرت عن مقتل عدد من الصباط الكبار في الحرس الثوري الإيراني

    وفي الصباح الباكر من الجمعة 19 أبريل تم إسقاط عدة طائرات مسيرة في محيط قاعدة عسكرية إيرانية بالقرب من اصفهان وبعض المواقع الأخرى داخل إيران

    وتشير التقارير الإعلامية إلى أن إطلاق المسيرات كان ردا إسرائيليا على الهجوم الإيراني، لكن إسرائيل لم تتبن استهداف القاعدة في اصفهان رسميا. وحسب التقارير، كانت إسرائيل تسعى  لإرسال إشارة" إلى طهران، وليس للتصعيد العسكري معها
